Vijay Iyer
The American jazz pianist and composer is the son of Indian immigrants and combines jazz with contemporary music, Indian tradition and electronic influences in his music, making him one of the most innovative musicians of his generation. His highly acclaimed trio, with which he made his international breakthrough and released the albums ‘Accelerando’ (2012) and the Grammy-nominated ‘Historicity’ (2009), has been honoured with several awards. He regularly works with prominent artists and, in addition to his performing activities, is also a professor of music at Harvard University.
