Voller Feuer, Leidenschaft aber auch Intimität verbindet Núñez hier den Flamenco mit Jazz-Elementen, spanischer Folklore und Anregungen aus der Popmusik. Der Flamenco Nuevo kennt keine Kategorisierung. Bei aller stilistischen Offenheit kann man sich auch auf „Travesia“ nur eines sicher sein, dass Gerardo Núñez einfach „grandiose Musik“ (Der Spiegel) macht.
