Vladyslav Sendecki

Even though the New York Village Voice declared Sendecki as "one of the five best jazz pianists in the world," it took years of searching for identity and finding his place before he became the artist he is today.

Born in 1955 in Gorlice, Poland, Sendecki initially learned classical piano, deeply immersed in the rich tradition of his homeland. It was only through records of Western greats circulating at the Frederic Chopin Conservatory and the Music Academy in Krakow that he was introduced to jazz. In 1981, he emigrated to Switzerland, launching an international career that often took him to the United States.

He performed with notable artists like Klaus Doldinger's Passport, Billy Cobham, Michael and Randy Brecker, Bireli Lagrene, Jaco Pastorius, Joe Henderson, Lenny White, and Charlie Mariano.

For many years, he played less and focused on conceptual and producer activities until he moved to Hamburg in 1996 and became the pianist for the prestigious NDR Bigband.
