On Vagabond, the globetrotter Wakenius shows the curiosity he has for all kinds of good music and how versatile he knows how to use his guitar: from the French "Bretagne" and the Nordic-tinged "Psalms" to the Indian sounds of "Witchi-Tai-To" and the Asian-style "Song For Japan" - Wakenius brings musical postcards from all over the world.

Ulf Wakenius
Ulf Wakenius served as the guitarist in the legendary Oscar Peterson's quartet for nearly eleven years, until Peterson's passing in 2007. He also played alongside bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen for many years. Currently, one of his most significant musical partners is the Korean singer Youn Sun Nah. Together, often in a duo format, they have performed hundreds of acclaimed concerts around the world in recent years. As a leader on his own recordings, the highly virtuosic guitarist often showcases his calm, melodic side, typically on the acoustic guitar. His repertoire includes interpretations of music by Esbjörn Svensson and Keith Jarrett, as well as his own evocative compositions, often influenced by world music.
