Michael Riessler
The Ulm-born saxophonist, bass clarinettist and composer has made a name for himself through his cross-genre work between jazz, contemporary music and classical music. He studied clarinet and bass clarinet and has played with many different renowned orchestras, ensembles and musicians. His compositions and improvisations are characterised by technical virtuosity and creative border-crossing. Riessler is considered a pioneer in the combination of improvised and classical music and is an outstanding figure on the European music scene.
