The sound of Europe. After hundreds of concerts in Scandinavia, Central, Southern and Eastern Europe, as well as the Near and Middle East, the trio "Mare Nostrum", consisting of the Sardinian Paolo Fresu (trumpet), the Frenchman Richard Galliano (accordion) and the Swede Jan Lundgren (piano), has grown into one of the most prominent ensembles of the "Sound of Europe". With elements of jazz, classical music and song tradition from the northernmost to the southernmost end of the continent.

Jan Lundgren
Jan Lundgren is part of an impressive and long tradition of star pianists from Sweden, including Jan Johansson, who tragically passed away early, and more recently, Bobo Stenson and Esbjörn Svensson. Lundgren has never taken the easy path in life and has always strived to improve his incredible technique and advance his music. His ability to forge the most diverse music styles into a fascinating whole is extraordinary in itself. Whether it's contemporary classical music, Nordic folk traditional music, pulsating, groovy jazz, or African-American music, Lundgren finds a unique way to take the listener on a journey of discovery with his highly individual sonic landscapes - sometimes relaxing, sometimes utterly invigorating.
