Javier Girotto

Born in Córdoba, Argentina, Javier Girotto initially pursued a career in music, spending his youth playing in tango orchestras and jazz bands. He later moved to Boston to study jazz at the Berklee College of Music.

Afterward, he traveled to Italy, the home country of his grandparents, and ultimately decided to permanently settle in Rome, a place he saw as having many parallels to his Argentine homeland.

Throughout his career, Girotto has built an extensive repertoire as a composer, with over 500 pieces and nearly 40 albums released under his own name.

He has performed with musicians such as Horacio "El Negro" Hernández, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Mercedes Sosa, Luciano Biondini, Enrico Rava, and Fabrizio Bosso in various ensembles.
