The pianist and composer Júlio Resende is one of the leading
Portuguese musicians of our time and a pioneer of a new genre called
"Fado-Jazz."
He translates the bittersweet "blues" but also the
cheerful side of Fado music into the language of jazz. As a true pioneer in
this field, Resende is already an established artist in his homeland, filling
classical concert halls and collaborating with international stars such as Fado
singer Amália Rodrigues or in a duo with classical pianist Maria João Pires.
