Esbjörn Svensson
The visionary jazz pianist and composer revolutionised modern jazz with his Esbjörn Svensson Trio (e.s.t.). With the trio, Svensson created a unique blend of jazz, rock and electronic music that made the trio internationally famous. Albums such as ‘Strange Place for Snow’ and ‘Tuesday Wonderland’ received worldwide acclaim and defined the trio as one of the most innovative jazz groups of their time. Svensson's dynamic, emotional piano playing and his ability to transcend genre boundaries made him a key figure in European jazz. His untimely death in 2008 left a huge gap in the jazz world, but his musical legacy remains alive.
