Erna Rot was born in Berlin and lives as a singer, composer and author in Cologne. Her life has hardly changed since her childhood. Back then, she had her own radio show. She read the news and the weather report, conducted interviews with herself, played jingles on her self-made drum kit and sang songs on her piano. As Knef wanted and still wants: all or nothing! Her path led her to study literature in Dresden, to the music academy in Osnabrück and then to Cologne to study directing at the Academy of Media Arts.
