Founded in Hamburg in 1996, the percussion ensemble has made a name for itself with cross-genre compositions and performances. The band's four percussionists - Stephan Krause, André Bölk, Jan-Frederick Behrend and Wolfram Winkler - combine classical, ethical and contemporary percussion styles, using a wide range of instruments from all over the world. Their music ranges from minimalist rhythms to complex, orchestral arrangements and is often accompanied by light and video installations. Elbtonal Percussion is known for its energetic live performances and has already wowed audiences on international stages and festivals. The band also regularly collaborates with renowned musicians from various genres and is a permanent fixture on the European percussion scene.
