Don Friedman
The American jazz pianist and composer became known for his lyrical playing style and his influence on modern jazz. After his first musical experiences in California, he moved to New York in the 1950s, where he played with greats such as Ornette Coleman, Scott LaFaro and Elvin Jones. His repertoire ranged from bebop to avant-garde to classically influenced compositions, which emphasised his musical versatility.
