Bengt-Arne Wallin
The Swede Bengt-Arne Wallin was a well-known jazz musician, composer and arranger who became known primarily as a trumpeter. He was one of the pioneers of traditional Scandinavian folk music combined with modern jazz. This earned him the nickname ‘The Swede who combines jazz with Nordic roots’. Wallin worked with numerous international jazz greats such as Quincy Jones and Stan Getz and was also a composer and arranger for radio, television and film. His albums are considered milestones in Swedish jazz. Wallin has received several awards for his achievements and is considered one of the most influential figures in 20th century Scandinavian jazz.
