With "Good Time Jazz", ACT revisits the All American Music of the 1920s/30s. Not out of nostalgia, but to recall the (often forgotten) roots. Because if you don't know the past, you can't understand the present and shape the future. Yesterday's good in a new guise. Not replayed, but innovatively interpreted. Jazz that speaks to the heart, that makes your fingers snap and your feet tap. With the joy of playing. Entertainment in the best sense.
Pete York
Born in Redcar, England, the drummer achieved international fame primarily as a member of the Spencer Davis Group in the 1960s. In addition to his work in rock and blues music, York also played in numerous jazz formations and developed into a sought-after musician in various genres. He worked with artists such as Eric Clapton, Chris Barber and John Lord and was also present in Germany with projects such as ‘Superdrumming’. York is known for his technical virtuosity and humorous stage presence, making him a popular live performer. For decades, he remained an important figure on the international music scene and influenced generations of drummers.
