”This album is a dream come true. I started to write songs about two years ago and contacted Dalasinfoniettan, an absolutely fantastic Swedish orchestra that I love. For a short while I was thinking that there are already so much lovely music out there to record, but felt very fast that for me it’s natural to compose new material. Die schwedische Jazzsängerin ist international für ihre klare Stimme und emotionale Ausdruckskraft geschätzt. Sie studierte Musik in Stockholm und New York, bevor sie in den 1990er Jahren ihre Solokarriere startete und sich schnell in der europäischen Jazzszene etablierte. Ihr Repertoire reicht von Jazzstandards bis hin zu Eigenkompositionen, oft mit Einflüssen schwedischer Volksmusik. Gustafsson hat bereits mit Künstlern wie Nils Landgren und dem Stockholm Jazz Orchestra zusammengearbeitet und mehrere Alben veröffentlicht. Sie gilt als eine der führenden Stimmen des skandinavischen Jazz und hat sich durch ihre Auftritte weltweit eine große Fangemeinde erspielt.
