Bugge Wesseltoft
The Norwegian jazz pianist, composer and producer Bugge Wesseltoft is regarded as a pioneer of ‘nu jazz’. He founded his own label Jazzland Recordings in the 1990s and released the groundbreaking album ‘New Conception of Jazz’, which fuses electronic music with traditional jazz elements. Wesseltoft has worked with numerous well-known artists such as Jan Garbarek and Sidsel Endresen and is regarded as a leading figure in the Scandinavian jazz scene. His music is characterised by innovation, experimentation and a deep feeling for the combination of acoustic and electronic sounds. Bugge Wesseltoft is known for his ability to break through genre boundaries and take jazz in a new, contemporary direction.
