The Norwegians also have the blues: on "Tears Of The World," guitarist Knut Reiersrud and his band collaborate with 72-year-old Southern singer Mighty Sam McClain, delving into the original music of the deep South of the USA. This album impressively demonstrates that energetic R&B, soul, and blues know no boundaries of origin. Mighty Sam McClain passed away on June 16, 2015. "Tears Of The World" became his final recording and a testament to his legacy. The blues and soul world mourns the loss of a great artist.

Knut Reiersrud
After being discovered by Buddy Guy and Otis Rush, they invited the then 18-year-old Knut Reiersrud to the United States, specifically Chicago, to jam with them in the hallowed halls of Chess Studios. As a result, Knut Reiersrud's list of collaborators over the course of his career includes several stars of the global music scene, such as the Blind Boys of Alabama. While his roots are firmly in the blues, his innovative guitar playing opens up entirely new horizons. At times, his guitar work has been compared to virtuosos like Derek Trucks and Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, while at other times, you can hear echoes of B.B. King's style and the cutting-edge approach of an icon like Albert King.
