The renowned actress Birgit Minichmayr, pianist Bernd Lhotzky, and Quadro Nuevo have set to music nine Shakespeare sonnets. For Minichmayr, this project is a debut as she presents a complete album as a singer for the first time. Minichmayr's intoxicating musicality is remarkable. Her bittersweet voice is moving and deeply compelling. The multifaceted compositions are by Bernd Lhotzky, who has found the ideal partners in the musical globetrotters of Quadro Nuevo to bring his ideas to life.

Austrian-born Birgit Minichmayr has long been a star as an actress. But she also stands out as a singer. Minichmayr's intoxicating musicality is captivating. Her bittersweet voice is poignant and of great urgency. With natural instinct she finds artful ways of phrasing.Minichmayr received her acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. From 2007 to 2011 she was a permanent ensemble member at the Burgtheater in Vienna and was part of the permanent ensemble at the Residenztheater in Munich from 2011 to 2013. Since 2014 she has worked freelance at the renowned stages in Vienna, Munich, Berlin and Hamburg. In the course of her career, she has worked under the direction of Frank Castorf, Klaus Maria Brandauer, Dimiter Gotscheff, René Pollesch, Stephan Kimmig, Luc Bondy and Martin Kušej, among others.In 2001, Minichmayr was presented at the Berlinale as one of the "shooting stars" of European film. In 2005 she played the mother of the main character in Tom Tykwer's film "Perfume". In 2009, she and Lars Eidinger starred in Maren Ade's film "Alle anderen" as unlikely lovers. Minichmayr received the Actor's Award at the 59th Berlinale for her performance.In 2012 she starred alongside Jürgen Vogel in Matthias Glasner's competition film "Gnade". In 2017 she appeared in "Animals - Stadt der Tiere" by Greg Zglinski, which premiered at the Berlinale 2017. She was also most recently in front of the camera for Özgür Yildrim's "Nur kann mich richten" with Moritz Bleibtreu. Overall, she has worked with the most interesting German-language directors, including Jan Schütte, Götz Spielmann, Hendrik Handloegten, Doris Dörrie, Michael Haneke and Lars Kraume. In 2018, she was awarded the German Film Award for Best Supporting Female for her role in Emily Atef's "Three Days in Quiberon".On television, she was recently seen in the drama series "Die Neue Zeit" (2019) by Lars Kraume, among others She has also been in front of the camera since 2015 for the thriller series "Dengler" (2015 - 2019). Other notable leading roles were in "Die Verführerin Adele Spitzeder" (2011) by Xaver Schwarzenberger and in "Eine Liebe für den Frieden - Bertha von Suttner und Alfred Nobel" (2015) by Urs Egger.
