On this album, Verneri Pohjola combines the most diverse styles, moods and sounds with his unique trumpet playing. Fresh wind en masse, which makes this "Ancient History" look anything but old and could become a classic.

"Verneri Pohjola has the potential to become an
international jazz star." (Allaboutjazz.com)
Born in 1977, Verneri Pohjola is the son of the Finnish jazz
legend Pekka Pohjola. Similar to his role model Miles Davis, he is known for
his sense of space in music, long melodic arcs, and a virtuosic handling of
subtle nuances. Equally fascinating are Verneri Pohjola's abilities as a
composer and arranger, ranging from highly unconventional quartet sounds to
complex arrangements for large ensembles.
