Bernard ‘Pretty’ Purdie is one of the most sought-after and influential studio and session musicians in the world. The drummer is known for his ‘Purdie Shuffle’, a rhythmic pattern that has become his trademark and has inspired many musicians. Over the course of his career, he has played on over 4000 recordings and worked with greats such as Aretha Franklin, Steely Dan, James Brown and Miles Davis.
