George Mraz and Emil Viklický - two of the leading Czech jazz musicians reunited: the former is one of the most distinguished bass players worldwide and made his career in the USA. Viklický is less well known internationally than his compatriot, but no less important: he is the "patriarch of Czech jazz piano" (London Evening Standard). The result of the reunion by producer Siggi Loch: a new Czech way of jazz, fresh ideas on the ground of tradition
George Mraz
The world-famous Czech jazz bassist has made a name for himself with his outstanding technique and musical versatility. After studying at the Berkelee School of Music in Boston, he played with jazz legends such as Oscar Peterson, Stan Getz and Tommy Flanagan. Mraz was known for his lyrical and precise playing style and was highly regarded in both traditional and modern jazz. Until his death in 2021, he was regarded as one of the best jazz bassists of his generation and a formative figure in the jazz world.
