Emma Rawicz receives Jazz FM Award as “UK Jazz Artist of the Year”
British saxophonist Emma Rawicz has received the prestigious Jazz FM Award in the category “UK Jazz Act of the Year.” The ceremony took place last night at London’s “KOKO” and the award was presented to Emma Rawicz by actor Martin Freeman. The Jazz FM Award is the most important award of its kind in the UK and the “UK Jazz Act of the Year” category holds particular significance, as the winners are determined through a public online vote by jazz fans worldwide.
Emerging from the vibrant and internationally acclaimed British jazz scene, Emma Rawicz has, in a remarkably short time, developed into an international star. She tours throughout Europe, playing in major concert halls, headlining at important festivals, while also constantly writing new music. In addition to the Jazz FM Award, Rawicz has already received the British Parliamentary Jazz Award; the BBC included her among its “New Generation Artists,” and the French Académie du Jazz counts her among the most important jazz artists of 2026.
To date, three albums by Emma Rawicz have been released on ACT: her widely acclaimed label debut Chroma (2023), the duo album Big Visit (2025) with pianist Gwilym Simcock, and the current, high-energy Inkyra (2025). In autumn 2026, the new album “Cloudwalker” will be released on ACT, accompanied by numerous concerts, including a headline performance at the EFG London Jazz Festival.
As The Guardian aptly wrote: “Emma Rawicz hit the ground running – and the warp speed of her evolution is showing no sign of slowing.”
