Vincent Peirani receives Prix Django Reinhardt 2013

Accordion player Vincent Peirani has been awarded the “Prix Django Reinhardt” for best French jazz musician 2013. This prestigious prize, set up in 1955 by the Académie du Jazz, is one of the most important awards for Jazz in France. Peirani’s 2013 ACT debut “Thrill Box” convinced a jury made up of prominent jazz musicians, producers and journalists to give him their vote. Peirani joins an illustrious list that includes former winners such as Jacky Terrasson, Richard Galliano and Michel Petrucciani.

On March 28th, Peirani’s new album “Belle Époque”, recorded in duo with soprano saxophonist Emile Parisien, will be out on the ACT label. Emile was the recipient of 2012’s “Prix Django Reinhardt” and this is the first album in which both winners appear together.
