Michael Wollny receives the prestigious "German Record Critics' Award" (Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik" for the double-album „Wunderkammer XXL“.
The 2-cd set includes the original studio album "Michael Wollny's Wunderkammer", a duo with the Israeli cembalist Tamar Halperin plus the live recording of the celebrated concert of the duo together with the Frankfurt Radio Big Band at the 2012 Frankfurt Jazz Festival.
The German Record Critics' Award ("Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik") is the most important independend German music award. Established in 1980 its jury consists of up to 145 music critics, writers, musicologists and editors in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The prize is presented four times a year in 26 categories covering a wide stylistic range from classical over jazz and world music to rock and pop music.
