Berlin, November 4th, 2014 (ACT) ACT president and music producer Siggi Loch has received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by the German head of state Bundespräsident Joachim Gauck. Siggi Loch received the highest national award of the country “in recognition of his merits for the country and the people” on November 3rd in Berlin.
For his work with ACT Siggi Loch was already awarded several times in the past. In 2010 he was given the knighthood of the Royal Order Of The Northern Star by King Carl XVI. Gustaf of Sweden for his earnings for Swedish Jazz. During the Jazzahead fair 2012 Siggi Loch received the Skoda Jazz Award and 1998 the lifetime achievement award from the German Record Critics' Award Association. For his support of jazz from Germany he received the WDR Jazzpreis 2014. The German jazz fans elected ACT label of the year for four times in a row at the ECHO Jazz, Germany’s most important music prize.
