Marius Neset joins the ACT family of artists

Norwegian saxophonist Marius Neset signs exclusively with ACT Music + Vision. Few European jazz musicians have garnered more international acclaim and astonished more audiences over the last 2 years than Norway's young saxophonist Marius Neset (born 1986).

The Guardian hailed Neset as "one of the biggest new draws on the circuit" who combines "Michael Brecker's power and Jan Garbarek's tonal delicacy", whilst renowned German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote that "Marius Neset does nothing less on the saxophone than opening a new dimension for this instrument".

On ACT, Marius Neset can already be heard on "Imaginary Room", the highly-praised debut from Polish violinist Adam Baldych, whilst he has also been earning rave reviews for his performances in a duo with star pianist Michael Wollny, most recently at the JazzBaltica festival.

Siggi Loch: “From time to time there might be disappointments on the human side but nobody will stop me on my mission to look out for outstanding new talents and support them to the best of our abilities, particularly in European Jazz. This always was and is one of the core competences of ACT. The collaboration with Marius Neset now opens a new chapter in this endeavor.”

The new album Marius Neset & Trondheim Jazz Orchestra will be released on April 25th on ACT.
