Thore Ehrling Award for Jan Lundgren
The Swedish pianist Jan Lundgren has received the prestigious Thore Ehrling Award on May 24, 2010. The award, named after one of the pioneers of Swedish popular music, is among the most important of its kind in Sweden. In the past, artists like Benny Anderson (ABBA) have been awarded with the price.
Jan Lundgren ranks among the most sought-after Swedish pianists and composers. His latest ACT release European Standards (ACT 9482-2) is an album with new interpretations of classics of European popluar music and continues the huge success of his chart-hit Swedish Standards (ACT 9022-2). As a composer, Jan Lundgren contributed music to the internationally hugely successful Swedish “Wallander” films.
