Nils Landgren’s new Funk Unit album wins GOLD for 10.000 units sold in Germany.

The band’s performance at the ECHO Jazz Award on May 5 was the joyful completion of the Funk For Life European tour. Over 9800 people came to the 16 concerts. The celebration of the ECHO Awards was the perfect opportunity for ACT head Siggi Loch, to submit the German Jazz Gold Award to the band.

With his new album Funk For Life (ACT 9500-2), Nils Landgren together with Médecins Sans Frontières supports the music education of children and teenagers in Kibera / Nairobi, one for Africa’s largest slums. One euro of each sold unit of Funk For Life will be donated for this purpose, in equal shares paid by Nils Landgren and ACT. 25.000 euros were already contributed to the project as an advance payment to the expected donations from the upcoming record sales.
