Youn Sun Nah & Ulf Wakenius on March 14th at BMW Welt Jazz Award

On March 14th 2010, 11 am the Korean jazz singer Youn Sun Nah will perform together with the Swedish guitarist Ulf Wakenius at the prestigious BMW Welt Jazz Award in Munich. Also, on March 13th the duo will perform at 5 p.m. at the Kaufhaus Ludwig Beck. Youn Sun Nah is one of the most important new voices in international jazz. Jazzwise UK stated: “A wonderfully clear voice, with superb melismatic control and dynamic poise. A welcome new presence on the international jazz scene.”

The BMW Welt Jazz Award takes place for the second time. Under this year’s topic “Voices in Jazz”, six bands/artists perform –free of charge- at the BMW Welt. A jury chooses the best two artists for the final which takes place on April 17th. Then, the audience elects the winner of the award which comes with a prize money of 10000 € for the first and 5000 € for the second prize. In the last year, the ACT artist Trio [em] Wollny / Kruse / Schaefer received the first price at the BMW Welt Jazz Award.
