ACT turns 15: Exhibition PAINT IT BLUE at Weserburg, Museum für Moderne Kunst

2007 is a special year for ACT: It is the Munich jazz label’s 15th birthday, a fact that calls for some serious celebrating!

The first celebratory event is the vernissage of the exhibition PAINT IT BLUE at Weserburg, Museum für Moderne Kunst, Bremen on March the 10th 2007 (simultaneously with JazzAhead).

ACT boss Siegfried Loch has been an avid art collector for decades. He has continuously built bridges between visual art and music and has inspired numerous musicians to compose music to works of art from his collection. He has frequently selected works for his collection that reflect the dialogue between art and music.

Over the years, one focus of the ACT art collection has been on works of exceptional contemporary artists that deal with the fascination of the colour blue.

To celebrate the ACT-anniversary, there will be an exhibition titled PAINT IT BLUE from March, 11 until June, 3 of 60 works on the subject. It will feature paintings by artists ranging from Francis Picabia (1950) to Sigmar Polke (2006), which will be presented at the Weserburg.

The vernissage will feature performances by the radio.string.quartet and Nils Landgren.
